1st stage

Surface Preparation Comply to
ISO8501

The first step in ensuring effective corrosion protection with Wencon epoxy is thorough surface preparation. All surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and roughened to meet ISO 8501 standards, ensuring welds and edges are smoothed and free from rust. The surface should be blasted to a near-white metal (Sa 2½/SP10), with all residues removed. Additionally, conditions like humidity and dew point are carefully monitored to ensure optimal application, with salt and contamination tests performed to confirm surface purity.

2nd stage

Wencon Product Application

Before applying Wencon products, the surface must be free from dust and grease. It is recommended to apply a stripe coat to edges, welds, and other irregular areas for extra protection. Wencon Coatings should be applied in a double coat system, ensuring the second coat is applied while the first is still tacky (wet-on-wet). The curing time varies between 6-24 hours at 20°C, with faster curing at higher temperatures.
